If you want to find an alternative to your glue-on lash extensions or multiple layers of clumpy mascara, Latisse is the solution you’ve been looking for. Latisse is an FDA-approved treatment for eyelash growth. Furthermore, this prescription medication helps patients enjoy thicker and darker eyelashes following simple regular applications along the lash line of the upper eyelids.

How does Latisse work?

Latisse is a man-made version of a naturally occurring substance called prostaglandin. It has the potential to contribute to eyelash growth and encourage darker and fuller lashes.

Latisse, is an FDA-approved medication for hypotrichosis – the abnormal growth of eyelashes. This ophthalmic solution is regularly used for cosmetic purposes to combat eyelash loss and promote longer and darker lashes. The science behind this eyelash improvement medication is based on the bimatoprost’s potential to increase both the length and number of eyelash hair.

How do you use Latisse?

Latisse should be applied at the base of the upper eyelid skin using an applicator. The product should not be used for the lower eyelid. The application should be performed according to your doctor’s instructions. For the best results, Latisse needs to be applied every night for at least 6-8 weeks and ideally for 16 weeks. While you will be able to notice the first results within 4 weeks from the first use, for the eyelashes to achieve their full growth, you should wait up to 16 weeks.

Eyelash improvements are to be noticed as long as you continue the regular application of Latisse. If you stop using the medication, your lashes will eventually stop growing and return to their initial appearance. Latisse should be used according to the prescription label. Using a larger amount or for a longer time than prescribed does not increase the solution’s effectiveness.

Patients should use a different applicator per eye and applicators must be disposed of after one use. If you are wearing contact lenses, wait at least 15 minutes after using Latisse to put them in. Remove your make-up and wash and dry your face before applying the solution. Always use a sterile applicator.
